PENCE, DANIELS ANNOUNCE FEDERAL FUNDS TO CITY OF ANDERSON

Pence and Governor Mitch Daniels tour storm damage

Washington, May 24 - (Pence and Gov. Daniels survey storm damage. January 2005.)

U.S. Congressman Mike Pence and Governor Mitch Daniels today announced that the City of Anderson will receive more than $1 million in federal funds to help cover the cost of power distribution repairs as a result of the severe winter storm, which struck in January 2005.

"I commend FEMA on their continuing commitment to the communities in my district that were affected the most by severe winter storms," said Pence.

"Anderson was hit hard last winter. These funds will assist in the continued recovery," said Governor Daniels.

The funds are being provided to Anderson for repair costs, which include replacement of power poles, lines and miscellaneous ancillary equipment. FEMA provides 75 percent of the project's total cost of $1,393,256 with the remaining 25 percent non-federal share coming from local resources. The funds are made available under FEMA's Public Assistance program, which is administered by the State.
